A month ago, I posted on a series of lectures by Micah Christensen.  Since then, there are few more lectures that have gone up on his site and on Vimeo.  The post ended up being a popular one (the lectures are excellent, so no surprise there) so I am adding the last few videos from this series.

They happened to be given nearby my home and Shari and I made it a weekly tradition to get art history and a dinner each Thursday night.  We are going through withdrawals now, but look forward to the fall when Micah has assured me they will start up again!

A wonderful lecture on Ingres:

The Neo-Classical giant, David:

Jacques-Louis David (French, 1748-1825) from Micah Christensen on Vimeo.

A very interesting lecture on an artist that I didn’t know a lot about before hand.  If you don’t know much about Géricault, be sure to give this one a listen.

Théodore Géricault (French, 1791-1824) from Micah Christensen on Vimeo.

I have had the chance to go on a few adventures lately and am looking forward to posting about them.  Over the next couple months, I will post about:

Portrait Society of America Conference
Traveling to Italy (or taking The Grand Tour)
Review of Cesar Santos’ Secrets of Portrait Painting
Review of Scott Waddell’s excellent painting video On Form

Stay tuned and thank you for everyone that makes Muddy Colors so great to be part of!
