Designing the Dragons for ‘Game of Thrones’

September 19, 2019 - The capabilities of a home computer have come so far, that believe it or not, the design of the dragons for Game of Thrones was actually created by a single artist, in their home studio. Dan Katcher is a concept artist based out of Los Angeles, and created the look of these iconic dragons using Zbrush. In this interview, Katcher takes the viewer through all of the steps he took to bring these dragons to life, beginning with a simple sketch. This video is a wonderfully frank look at the surprisingly humble beginnings that even a multi-million dollar production has.
