January 15, 2026 - "Well, young lady...Explain yourself.” I'm standing next to a sculpture in one of my first important solo shows. A collector had flown in to see this piece in person at the opening and decided to purchase it. A few days later, her husband came to town to see the work and wanted to meet me. Dressed in my best "artist attire," I show up an hour early and wait, trying to keep the butterflies in my stomach from turning into full-blown collywobbles.
