Many of our readers may recall a interview that Lauren Panepinto did a while back with Loic Zimmerman about his documentary, ‘A Solitary Mann’, an intimate look at the Artist, Jeremy Mann. You can check out the insightful interview right here: https://www.muddycolors.com/2016/11/a-solitary-mann-documentary/
The video (which has been out for almost 2 years now) has always been incredibly reasonably priced at a mere $5, a sentiment that is very dear to Muddy Colors, as we find that videos targeted to artists and students tend to be prohibitively expensive. But Loic Zimmerman has one upped himself, and recently decided to make the video public and completely free for everyone to watch!
This 40 minute documentary can now be viewed in it’s entirety simply by clicking on the embedded video above, or on YouTube, right here: https://youtu.be/G06_Caz1WwA
The documentary is meant to be just that, a documentary. It is not a tutorial, or a live demo, although you will get to see Jeremy paint quite a bit. The film, instead, delves more into the life of the artist and attempts to explore the motivation behind his passion and skill. It’s a good watch for anyone who wants a deeper look into the thought processes of this incredible artist.
If you like what you see, and appreciate all the hard work that these two artists are giving away for free, be sure to let Loic & Jeremy know, either in the comments section here, or on their video.
You can view Loic’s other videos on his YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/e338/videos
And don’t forget to check out Jeremy Mann’s website, where you can peruse literally 100’s of his paintings, at: http://redrabbit7.com
I bought this video when it came out and it’s one of the better art documentaries I’ve seen. They show a lot of his process and technique, which is really helpful to me. Also, his paintings are absolutely amazing.
Thank you! It is beautiful documentary Loic and so is the art and the artist Jeremy.
Just ‘discovered’ this – wow, simply amazing. Thank you! Amazing on so many levels both in the craft of the film maker and the artist. Great stuff!
