Calibration – Astronauts

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018

A few detailed images of a new painting, Calibration, 18″ x 24″ Oil on Panel, making its exhibition debut at IX Arts Convention (IlluxCon 18) later this month in Reading , Pennsylvania.  Also posted here is a rocking short video demo of the acrylic lay-in on this piece before finished off in oils.  Produced with a little help from my daughter Cecilia!

The preliminary pencil drawing in graphite and chalk leads off the composition formalities, with a few close ups of the acrylic washes and starts executed in oils, and a finish of the final work as a full oil rendering.
