Thank you for sharing this. I've come so close to quitting on so many occasions because I didn't think I had it in me but I'll keep fighting the fight.
Yes, thank you for this. I've quit many times (a year being the longest) but have always picked up again. Accept and appreciate your current work, aspire to push it further next time.
Have this 'client' at the moment: I'm afraid he may not be getting what he wants, because I'm not entirely satisfied. Yet he is and he lets me know this … and it helps.
Perfect comment. You know when you do something and you can see that it is not as good as you want it to be that you're halfway there. At least you can see the faults and know it's not what you want. I'd way rather be able to see all the flaws, imperfections, improvements and ideas in my work then be someone who thinks their work is the best around (when it clearly is not).
Thank You for keeping this truth before my eyes…it get discouraging continually putting myself out there. I have to have faith in myself to pull it through and every little bit helps…dierdra
This is now going to be my desktop – next to my image of Yoda… Thanks -along with everyone else I needed to hear this! The added dimension of having taste really helped too! Now I have a more positive motivator to put in my head!
haha. a friend/classmate and I were talking about art/our classes/techniques/etc. He said that it was art or die for him. I agreed that I felt the same. Going through this”phase” is worth than death. in my humble opinion. I can't wait to be born 🙂
Thanks for sharing those words. First time I actually read (or hear) words that explain this complex feeling. It's very valuable to know that we are not alone going through this.
I'm gonna print this text and paste it on my work station wall 🙂 And read it each time I have a down phase.
Very profound. Makes me want to pursue my creative talents and stop wasting energy working overtime for The Mundane. I DO have good taste, I do, I do, I do.
Very encouraging, a great post, thank you. I don't want to be a professional artist as I already have a profession I love but I want to enjoy the result of my work and be satisfied that I can produce what's in my head. I think I will look at practice sessions differently. Thank you.
You posted this quote three days after I read Steven Pressfield's “The War of Art”. Nothing will stop me now, it feels like fate. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you for sharing this. I wish someone had told me this and believed in me this way years ago.
Awesome! I think one's taste also improves as one learns to “see” better. The frustrations of art!

So inspiring, i'm in shock. I think we, as all artists of all sorts, tend to forget that simple truth. work gives result!
I really needed that this morning. so thank you!

I recently finished my first children's book, and I am going through a lot of these feelings. Thanks for sharing.
For people like me who suffer from anxiety and have a PhD in procrastination, this is complete gold. Thanks a million.
According to author Malcom Gladwell, it takes about 10,000 hours of practice to really master a skill. Keep on painting!
This is the best, I do totally agree.
Thank you so much for sharing this, I really appreciate.
It's getting me to keep go on.
