There’s so much to learn when you’re slinging paint and pencil, so here’s the seventeenth installment in my monthly segment, Muddy Colors: Art Tip of the Month with Jeff Miracola. Each of my short videos will share a handy tip to help you create magnificent art.

My art tip this month is: Paint or Draw from Life

Painting or drawing from a live model is going to reveal the strengths and weaknesses in your art process, so this is a practice that shouldn’t be avoided. You need to find time to work from a live model as much as you possibly can. In this video you’ll see just a few of the model sessions I’ve attended to work on my paintings and drawings.

Review: VR Sketch Transfer

I hate transferring my sketch. I hate it. Every method I have found is tedious. Projectors and transfer paper lose important small details, and to get out of the way of the projection, I lean and bend in unnatural positions for long periods of time. There's more, but...

Creativity and Well-Being: Creativity Hangovers

As always mr.miracola thank you for generously taking your time to give us these amazing videos, I am floored by your consistency and ability to give fresh new ideas every time! Also thank you Silvia for videotaping the figure drawing sessions!

I have 2 questions for you, In your opinion, what do you think is more important for a fantasy artist, the act of drawing or the thought process behind it?

And I was wondering if you could ever talk about how to store your art. I have literally thousands of drawings and what keeping me from doing more from life is the thought of ” where do I put it?” Do you have any advice for storing a large amount of art that is space efficient and easily manageable?

    Thank you for your time!
