THE STARTING BLOQ EP: 4 – WARWICK JOHNSON-CADWELL

Saturday, July 21st, 2018

Today’s guest is Warwick Johnson-Cadwell and you have social media to thank for it. I became acquainted with his work after a friend in the U.K. posted a Punisher print he had purchased from Warwick at a local con. The friend tagged Warwick and I, made the introduction, and well — Bob’s your uncle.

Warwick has worked in editorial illustration, concept art and animation, but his main love is comic books. His most recent comics gig was a collaboration with writer-artist Mike Mignola on a book called “Mr. Higgins Comes Home” (Dark Horse).

Our talk covers working with Mignola, what is style, Warwick’s new art book “An Old Dark House,” and what fandom is like on his side of the Atlantic.
