At the top of my list was the Musée d'Orsay. It has risen to the top of my list of favorite museums. Photos of paintings don't really come close to capturing the experience of seeing an original, but I do find them useful in my study and they are nice to have to remind me of notes or observations I made in person.  For instance, check out this little splash of vermillion on the back of one of the satyr's necks.  I missed it in person, but found it in the photo: Despite the limitations if you are going to take photos in a museum you might…
