Since I’ve pulled the Thanksgiving post this year, here’s a personal fave of fantasy art thanksgiving: Uncanny X-Men #308. This issue was published in 1994, written by Scott Lobdell with cover & interior art by John Romita Jr. I was a sophomore in high school, working at the famous comic book store Jim Hanley’s Universe in New York, and reading every X-comic that came in the door. This issue was an adorable one, and I loved “normal life” scenes in comic books. The issue also happens to have the engagement of Jean and Scott, and as I was 15 at the time, I was still a Scott and Jean stan. (I’m pretty sure looking back now, as a 46 year old woman, I would say go for Wolverine, but hey, that’s a whole other article.)

Not a lot happens in the issue other than a lot of conversation and a build up to Scott proposing, but there’s some cute scenes of what a Thanksgiving table at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters would look like:

And there’s some cute scenes of holiday traditions, like making scarecrows and playing football:

I hope your Thanksgiving is happy, whether that means family, friends, or getting more painting done!
