Qistina Khalidah is an incredible artist whose work I discovered via the Month of Love Challenge, a February art event showcasing images of romance and intimacy. Her piece “The Monarch’s Lullaby” (featured below) was an absolute stunner, as were many others highlighted in the Challenge.
Qistina (or Qissus) hails from Shah Alam, a city located just west of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. Our conversation covers her education and training, her style influences (Jon Foster and Sergio Toppi), and what she would do if certain American comic book publishers came a-knockin’.
